The story appears to be that the killer had 'mental health issues', and that the weapon was either home-made or a modified replica type of gun (no-one has clearly reported this as yet).

It's a shocking thing to happen anywhere, even more so here as shootings are comparatively rare. A tragic waste of the life of a mother-of-two and what seemed to be a genuinely heart-felt and compassionate politician.

I can't help but note she was shot with a gun. So, making guns illegal there works about as well as making heroin illegal, right?

What I have always admired about you Dave is you do not prevaricate. When an atrocity comes along, you lambast those who doubt the identity of the perpetrators and call it how you see it. Now here we have an example of an atrocity that is not on your side of the fence and suddenly you are sitting on it!

I have listened to eyewitness reports and there is no doubt that the perpetrator was white so I will draw my own conclusions in time but I am leading towards nationalist jingoism!

Of course he is white. He could be a right wing extremist, he could be a crazy leftist, he might be Leave, he might be remain, equally he could be just some mentally ill person on a psychotic break. There has been literally zero evidence released to the public thus far about the motives, or any information at all about who the killer was, what his ideology is, his religion, his politics, nothing. People have judged his motives based purely on the policy advocated by the MP, we don't even know if yet if she was targeted or if this was some random act of violence. There are so many fabricated stories to make it look as this is the way Brexiteers treat the Remainians.
Jo Cox MP was responsible for all sorts of policy, not just pro EU stuff. She supports settling tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of syrian refugees in Britain, that might upset some people and has nothing to do with the EU.

I make informed predictions once there is some evidence to go on. I didn't jump on the Islam bandwagon in Orlando until they released information about the killer,

An additional atrocity in all this is the apparent guilt of the weapon itself, at least to some here in the States. Automatic weapons with big clips don't make a lot of sense to me for target practice, hunting, or self defense, but some people seem to forget an old story, about an event before the development of gunpowder:

It's a shame, indeed, that the UK does have so many gun control laws. But for that, instead of one death by shooting being such a rare event as to make international headlines, we could be more like the USA where so many people are killed by gunfire every day that just ONE shooting would barely even register on local news.

The story is a tragedy, but the response by the NRA-loving gun-toting morons is helping. It makes us all laugh at how stupid they are.
